I am an expat with recent move to The UK. I am living around Bushy Park. I need advise as to which pool would be better - price-wise and otherwise- for my toddler for first introduction to swimming. Choice is between Kingfisher leisure centre and teddington pool. Any suggestion on leisure card discount? Any ideas thankfully received!

Hampton open air pool is fab. Don't worry about the weather, because the pool is heated. Some of the kids wear wetsuits in winter, but many don't. The lessons there are great. Very enthusiastic (and hardy) staff and a community atmosphere.

I second Hampton Pool for all the reasons above, plus i'm pretty sure the class sizes are smaller. My youngest son had his first lessons with Adam who is amazing but all the teachers are great, we have been going for years. One of mine wears a wet suit, the youngest doesnt.

You will need to sign up soon for lessons for next term, current pupils get priority booking (which is this week), new people will be next week.

You won't regret it

Teddington does have a separate baby pool, which is nice and warm. However if your DC doesn't feel the cold too much the shallow beach and waves at Kingston are great fun. Hampton is fabulous, but I haven't been able to persuade my DCs to swim there apart from in nice weather.
