Free school

Did anyone apply for the free school? Dd has been offered a place, Christ the king was 1st choice but as we're not church goers it's not a big surprise she didn't get in.

She was offered Medina, but the head is leaving.

I'm quite excited although none of dds friends will be going there. (0ne of her friends is on the waiting list fingers crossed) I'm hoping there will be a bus it's a bit of a trek for us!

My ds is going to Carisbrooke as his older sister is there. Where is the free school? I didn't realise that it had been built yet.

It opens in September, in a temporary site- Boniface primary school Ventnor and will be there for 1 year whilst the brand new school is built. You could apply in addition to other schools if that makes sense. Hours are different 830 - 430 and they can set their own school holidays that well may be different to other schools.

It's a bit of a hike for us but looks like it's going to be a really good school so I've accepted her place. It was over subscribed too so she is lucky. Dd2 will get a place as a sibling.
