library cuts?

It looks like the old "step 1: transfer control to X; step 2: cut funding; step 3: blame X when the branch libraries start shutting down" ploy, but maybe I'm just cynical, maybe this will be a good thing for the libraries?

(don't know what we'd have done with the kids on all those rainy saturday mornings if it weren't for the library......)

That's a depressing thought. The library staff that I have spoken to have all been positive about the change so I really do hope that their enthusiasm isn't misplaced.

Yes, we would have been lost on plenty of gloomy rainy days without York's libraries.
