Place for lunch with toddlers in Balham?

I need to find somewhere for lunch with two other families this weekend. Ideally in Balham. Between us we'll have 8 kids in tow with ages ranging from 3 months to 6 years.

I was thinking Harrisons but would love other ideas.

Slightly dreading it Hmm

Lamberts are surprisingly good with small children - they have a box of toys, and do half portions of meals. Well worth a look.

I love Lamberts and am sure the little ones would be fine but there will be three 6 year olds and am a bit worried about them running around etc... I think I'd be too nervous about them ruining everyone else's lovely lunch.

They're not normally that crowded at weekend lunch are they? And there are normally other children there. Could you bribe them to stay put with the loan of an iPad etc?

How about The Regent www.theregentbalham.co.uk/ in Chestnut Grove, close to Balham Station? It's big - and they seem to have a large clientele of families with young children.

As long as there's no rugby/sport on that lunchtime, you should be fine!

Meant to add, you can book a table at The Regent.

Where did you end up going?
