Hi, a couple of useful groups for anyone who is or thinks they may be suffering from PND:

CedarHouse Support runs a support group at The Weir Link, 33 Weir Road, London SW12 0NU in Balham every Friday , term time only from 10.00am to 12.00pm. Details here www.postnataldepression.com/cedar-house-support-group.

This is a really relaxed and friendly group, run by specialist PND Councillor Liz Wise. It also has a crèche service for children under school age so you can concentrate on the discussion while your kids are looked after. Very experienced crèche staff including a local supper nanny and, sometimes, me too. You simply self refer by e-mailing Liz.

There's a similar Council organised group at the Kathleen Low Settlement on Battersea High Street which also has a crèche for under 4s although you need a referral from your GP or health visitor to attend.

St George's hospital has been trialling a group called "Making the Most of Motherhood" which combines general discussion, some CBT, coping techniques and sessions with partners to help them understand. For details e-mail Karina Teeha at [email protected].

Finally, Balham Community Centre offers counselling by qualified volunteer councillors and will set the price depending on your circumstances www.balhamcommunitycentre.org/.

Also feel free to post on this thread if you need a virtual shoulder to cry on. Hugs x
