Cheap half term activity suggestions

Apparently the average family spends £121 entertaining DC over half term and nearly half of parents stay at home just to save money (according to a survey by VoucherCodes.co.uk)

What are your suggestions for keeping children and teens entertained without breaking the bank?

And how do you encourage them to entertain themselves?

The Vue Cinema in Newcastle does Kids AM. Think its £1.75 each and there's a 99p shop nearby to get your snacks from before you go in.

Think the City Museum in Stoke has some free activities and Tittesworth Reservoir has a free trail.

We are spending time with friends and their DC, going to a craft session at our library, going to visit the free museum and art gallery in Birmingham and probably baking and playing monopoly Smile
