Surbiton Station Rush Hour Commute?

How easy is it to get from Surbiton to Waterloo, if attempting to board a train at Surbiton from 07:30-08:00 on a week day?

I understand that different people view things differently, so:

  • can a passenger get a seat?
  • can a passenger get stand?
  • can a passenger get on a train?
  • if a passenger has to stand, will they have enough personal space to hold and read a book?

What are the chances of the services being changes so that there are either:

  • fewer trains
  • slower trains

Getting a seat at that time will probably be impossible. I have rarely not managed to get on a train though it will be a squeeze/standing room. No matter how busy I have always been able to read my phone. Trains are v frequent (fast and slow) so makes the commute easy

Agree with 2cats - you won't get a seat but will usually get on the train. If the train is short formation (eg usually a 12 coach train but only 8 or 10 coaches one day) then you can have problems getting on at all. But trains are very frequent so there is generally another one behind. You would usually have space to read a book.
