Hi! I am new to mumsnet and this is my first post :)

I moved here from abroad last year and my husband and son (9+) will be joining me in the next months. I was wondering what is the procedure in the UK to admit your children in school in the middle of the term and how long it takes. I also don't have any idea which schools are good. So any suggestion would be really appreciated. thank you!

Where do you live?state or private schools?if you want state do your research and buy in catchment area, you still have 2 years of primary, also consider choosing a few secondary schools, visit, see the "feel" you get and ask details ASAP!!!
Is your son academic?or sporty?is he good at drama, music sport?planning any more children?

When you find a house you can check the schools near by and distance within then you check their report on Ofsted site!

I live near Tooting Bec. Looking for state schools.

My son is good at studies. He studies in an English medium school but English is not his first language so I am not sure if he will face any problem coping here in the UK. He's also into sports. Loves football, cricket, Xbox!

If you call Pupil Services at Wandsworth council they will be able to explain the process to you and tell you which schools have places
