Hello, can you help? We are currently househunting in Hither Green, Lee area and while I love the area and am constantly being told about the wonderful schools by estate agents, I've no idea how you work out which streets are in which catchments. I tried the council and they directed me to walk it.com but that (as the name would suggest) concentrates on street routes rather than straight line mapping. Am I being thick? Greenwich council make it so transparent but it seems it's a guessing game with Lewisham. Any hints as to how you clever mums out there work it out please?

Hi there

Hmm, odd on being directed to walk it.com - as catchment is based on straight line distance.
I used www.freemaptools.com/distance-between-uk-postcodes.htm
as it shows the straight-line distances.

www.lewisham.gov.uk/myservices/education/schools/school-admission/applying-to-start-primary-school/Documents/Starting_school_in_Lewisham_2014.pdf

it shows the max catchment distance for every Lewisham school.

Brindishe Lee is odd one - it had bulge class in 2013. But catchment was only 134m in 2012. My guess with Lee Manor and Brindishe Green is probably best bet to live within 400m. Trinity Primary I heard is doing well this year (it's just opened in Sept 2013) so it might be easing pressure on other primary schools.
