My daughter wants a swimming party. Parkside doesn't do parties any longer (sigh). Haverhill and Bedford have been recommended. Do you know a pool w slides w/in 5/10miles of Cambridge? (Chesterton do great parties w floats - no slides). Tx :)

Sorry to hijack, but where in Chesterton does great pool parties?

We used to take DC to Bedford which was my idea of hell they loved. Never done a party there, but good for waves, flumes, fountains, etc. Haven't been for several years though so it might have changed. it's not within 10 miles of Cambridge though.

hi Parkside do do swimming parties
chesterton sport centre do swimming parties
DS has been to parties at both recently.
swimming pool at bury st edmunds is very good and I imagine would do parties - I think the same people run the pool at haverhill.

Bedford Oasis has loads of slides - though it's quite crowded and difficult to keep track of lots of kids there. Great as long as they can all swim I'd say. They may do parties, but I don't think there'd be any private area of the pool, so you could just as well just take a group there, and then go somewhere else for a meal afterwards. Or you could do that at Parkside. The Abby pool in Cambridge don't have waterslides but do have giant inflatables in sometimes I think. Or there's a pool at Bottisham sports centre that you can hire, and they put inflatables in.
