DH and I are considering a move to the outskirts of Bristol from North Devon, we have DS 14, DD 11 and DD 8 and one on the way. DS is in his first year of GCSE's and was wondering if anyone has experience of moving a child at this point in their education. It is not a decision we take lightly but due to lack of opportunities in our area we really do need to move for work and personal reasons. The area we are considering is Westbury on Tryme, do any of you have experience of moving from a small village to a city area? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi RuthieC00psba, I'm afraid we did it the other way round, moved from a big city to the countryside - so I'm not sure I can help. But best of luck with the move. It's amazing how quickly kids adapt, given a bit of time. And they sound like they're just the right ages to get the most of a move to a city. There'll be loads for them to do.

I grew up in North Devon (having moved from London aged 6), and got very bored with living in an isolated village in my teens. I couldn't wait to go away to university, then moved to London as soon as I could! I am now back in Devon and loving it...as is my toddler.
