Looking to meet moms in the area

I moved here to Oxford few weeks ago from Los Angeles. I am a mommy of two little girls and would love to meet new people. Since we were not familiar with the neighborhoods, we pretty much rented a property close to my husband's work, near Science Park but I realized it's not the best of areas, but I guess I just have to keep an open mind and try to meet people. I love to cook, read and watch movies, so if you are interested, please do write back :) thanks!

Hi everyone!

I am moving to Oxford from Sweden to work at the University with my husband who will be working from home for his Swedish employer and our three kids, 11, 9 and 7 years old.

I don't know anything about Oxford so I need all the advice I can get!

Most urgent right now is:

1. Schools - what can you recommend? The most important is that they have a welcoming atmosphere to foreign kids and maybe some experiences of receiving kids with limited English skills.

1. Where should we live? And what to look out for then looking for accommodation?

Any advise on this would be most appreciated!!
