Nurseries in Didsbury and how far I need to plan ahead...

Are nurseries in Didsbury really over-subscribed, or...?

I'm due to have my first child mid-Feb and will need to go back to work around November - should I be getting my name down for nurseries now or can I leave it much later? Sorry, I am totally clueless about this!

Also would be great to hear any nursery recommendations - thank you!

Start visiting early and see which you like as they are all different S are the charges! The most over subscribed is Didsbury Village day nursery - if you want there, phone ASAP and put baby down. I never got a place there for my two despite a years notice lol!!

Wow, I had better get moving then - thanks itsahen!

Would you recommend where your two go/ went?

I used KU initially as it opens at 7.30am and was on my way to work as well as the fact that we liked it! When my daughter was almost 3 I switched her to Little Stars pre school @ Beaver Road as it was much cheaper etc and closer. She is now in the school nursery there. My son started at KU but then he moved to a lovely nursery close to where by OH works for reasons; we do one drop off/pick up each. We have had all +ve experiences. I am sure they are all fine however - there are a few round Withington that are cheaper, plus Simple Cherish by Moor Allerton. People I know use/love Kids Allowed but I found it a pain to get to and more expensive!!...its such a personal choice, I recommend looking at several. Good luck PM me if you want more info
