Skating

Would love to take my daughter either roller skating or ice skating. Internet browsing suggests there is ice skating in Peterborough or roller skating in Bury St Edmunds, has anyone been to either? Are they are good? Are they ok for a wobbly 5 yr old?

Thanks

The ice rink in Peterborough is good, best to get there a the start of a session if you're new to it as the ice will be smoother. They run lessons which are open to all ages, the teachers are lovely, i did one term as a very unfit and clumsy adult and got to grade 2, some of the little kids far outstripped me and were starting to learn to do standing jumps by the end of the 6 weeks!
I think there's also roller skating at the Bretton Centre in Peterborough on occasion. Not checked that out though.
Have fun!

Curve motion in Bury is also a massive soft play, really good. I think the roller skating would be ok for a 5 year old, in fact I think my husband has tried my (then) 4 year old on it once.

Cambourne sports centre has a family roller disco but I've no idea what sort of ages or abilities it attracts (Sat/Sun 5.30-6.30). You could try giving them a call or posting on their Facebook page.
