Crayon on walls!!!

I made the terrible mistake of leaving my son in his bedroom playing quietly.

Thinking it to be too good to be true I sat down and had a cup of coffee, when I later went up to check on him he had produced his own version of a Picasso painting.

I have tried and tried to get it off with kitchen cleaner and a rough sponge but keep taking the paint off.

Does anyone know how to get rid of the paint?

WD40 but only if its eggshell, try in an inconspicuous area first. Or sugar soap.Failing that acetone ( nail varnish remover) ,anything spirit based.

Baby wipes?

I have tried nail varnish remover and baby wipes but only seem to take a little bit off - if I try too hard the paint starts coming off too. My son did a really good Picasso job this time:)

This happened to me and in the end I had to paint over the crayons - it wasn't a very good job because you can still see the waxy mark - I am not sure what to do now though.

Unfortunately it depends very much on what your son has done his art work on, if its a fairly new house with Contract Emulsion (painting done just to make it look good initially) your pretty much fighting a losing battle trying to wipe it of as the wax from the crayons will have absorbed into the wall a bit, same problem if its been a cheaper brand emulsion, which by your description it appears one of the two Sorry!!

Best job you can do now is either try one of the professional "baby wipe" products from a local builder merchant with some priority cleaner for good measure.

Failing that but I'm afraid you'll need to rub down the affected area a little, then perhaps a thin coat of stain block (oil based undercoat would do, but there are better products)

Then redecorate the damaged wall
