I'm born & bred Cumbrian ( or Lancastrian as my Dad still insists!). I'm from Walney originally but moved further inland into the south lakes. Don't want to be more specific!

The Sure Start Centre is very active in the school building so that would be a good start (if you have younger children that is).

I'm South Lakes too, but originally from Yorkshire. Baby number 1 due soon and feeling the distance from family and friends now :(

Barrow working mam/drinker of tea /devourer of cake here. Not exactly stuck for things to do but new face's are always good to meet. Plus, I'm always looking for a distraction from pot washing! A change is as good as a rest so they say.

I'm a bit late to this post, but only just discovered the local forums. I moved near Whitehaven two years ago and I'm expecting my first baby in December. I don't know anyone round here with little ones, but looking forward to getting involved locally.
