Help Defend Local Mental Health Services

Are you a service user, a carer, friend or family member of somebody with mental health problems?

If so you will be aware of the appalling state of our local MH services and the effects of recent cuts to funding and staffing by the local foundation trust and central government.

We have now started a campaign to reverse these cuts and place Mental Health services in the headlines. Recent poor cancer care by Colchester Hospital hit the national press yet what is going on with the mental health services is worse. And people ignore it despite the likelihood of developing mental health problems being roughly equivalent to the likelihood of developing cancer.

Here is a link to the Campaign to Defend Norfolk and Suffolk Mental Health Services.

Please like their page, visit their website and tweet/leave comments. They can be anonymous.

PLEASE don't remain silent. Please help them.

The trust cuts hundreds of jobs in its radical redesign.

It admits it made errors.

It now readvertises posts-

Shock as Norfolk County Council takes back social care of the mentally unwell from the local MH trust- NSFT

www.edp24.co.uk/news/politics/mental_health_care_in_norfolk_suffers_fresh_blow_amid_social_care_shake_up_1_3254177 then the Norfolk & Suffolk Foundation Trust tries to justify it by commenting that "it's not unique to norfolk [local authority taking back control of social care] it's happening across the country"

That doesn't justify poor performance Mr Page nor let you off the hook. As NSFTCrisis state "Comparing poor with poor. A race to the bottom. What we need is health and social care bosses to clearly say to government we cannot provide an adequate service with the resources we have been given. If you care about services stand up for them. Stop promising the impossible to everyone. People who rely on services and staff deserve better. Some honesty would be a good start"

The NSFT has made the astonisging and disgusting decision to cut more beds in an already crippled MH service.

Read the NSFTCrisis response to this -
