My 6 month old refuses solids

Help! DD2 is absolutely refusing to try anything. Everyone told me it would be easy having watched DD1 munch happily on anything we put in front of her but no. DD2 is flat refusing anything. She'll lick a rusk or a rice cake (and yes have tried putting offending purée on the tice cake or rusk which is then immediately discarded) but anything else will be spat out and she'll even gag if the tiniest morsel is put on her lips. the other day, she was sick even tho she hadn't actually eaten anything. I have her in a high chair and DD1 and I sit and eat with her. DD1 is great at encouragement. I try at various times of the day and I've tried before, during and after a milk feed...having tried for 2 weeks and getting nowhere I'm starting to get quite anxious! Any ideas??

Are you breast or bottle feeding in the meantime? I'd say leave her to it for a while and don't try to push it - she may pick up on your anxiety. As far as I understand she has to show an interest for it to work out
