Recommend me a local handyman please

We need a local reliable handy man to help with some fairly minor jobs we just aren't getting round to - some as simple as putting pictures up.. Can anyone recommend someone?

Sorry I can't help but have you tried looking in the small ads at the back of mags like Families SW?

One of our family friends' husband was made redundant and thro' his church contacts has started up as a handyman - he's very meticulous and thorough and the work is flooding in. Unfortunately he's up in Suffolk so not much use to you!

This sounds a bit random but another friend told me that once you're over 50 or possibly 55 you can get someone in via Help The Aged for a fee of course but it's to ensure trusted people are going into the homes of older people!

Obviously sound elderly if not capable of putting pictures up - in fact it's just life with a toddler and baby! No idea how people ever get anything done!

Oh no not implying you sounded old - it's just something worth flagging up for friends and/or family! More of a 'did you know'. !

Don't worry I wasn't offended I just thought I probably came across as a bit infirm if I couldn't even manage putting pictures up!

! No - it's sometimes hard to have the head-space and the time to do these things with toddlers around!

There is a business card for a handy man in The Coffee in The Wood coffee shop. I think his name is Steve. Lots of people seemed to have used him in the area and I hear good things.
