Norwich - secondary school recommendations?

Hi
We're thinking of leaving London for Norwich.
Was thinking the 'Golden Triangle' is a good place to move to - but unsure what secondary schools are available?
Please could anyone advise?
Many thanks!

Hi there

Not sure if still watching this thread but will try to help anyway!

Norwich is lovely. We have lived in the golden triangle now for 5 years and love it. It's quite expensive compared to other parts of the city but worth it IMHO.

Sec schools wise...choice is usually CNS or the Hewitt school, with CNS being slightly better I believe.

Thanks for your advice. I had a look at CNS Ofsted report which 'requires improvement' -

Obviously Ofsted reports have to be taken with a pinch of salt - but does anyone have any knowledge or advice about this school? Thanks!

My gut feeling is that the average MNer wouldn't touch CNS with a bargepole.
The Ofsted wouldn't bother me, so I would send my kids there if I liked it, but I don't have high standards.
Notre Dame (the Catholic school) is a very popular alternative within the state sector.
golden triangle is awkward place to live, in a way, higher crime than I would like.

We live in the golden triangle and love it. I have a boy at the Hewitt and I have to say I've been pleasantly surprised. He's arty and musical so I know it's the right place for him. It's had a shocking reputation, but the teachers are great, it's a massive space and all the other parents are really happy with it. Also have friends kids at CNS. Sounds over subscribed, more academic than the Hewitt, but ok. I really don't think anything here is outstanding. Again. I don't take ofstead literally.
