I've looked around the website though can't find any, if anyone goes to one could you let me know where and when you meet?

If not does anyone want to start one? I'm in Totterdown so anywhere around there, Brislington, Southville ect would be fine to meet!

:)

Hi scrabblycat, I'm moving to bristol in January. I have zero friends in the city and would be keen to start a book club and meet some like minded people (we are hopefully about to buy in upper Knowle). I've been in a bookclub for years in London and will miss it. I also currently work in book publishing so have always done bookish things. Let me know if you'd like to start something in the spring. Cheers

Hi guys. I would also like to join a book club. I live the other side of town but would be willing to travel to south vile/ totter down. Let me know too if one gets started.

I'm in Bristol and currently in 2 book groups, but both over other side of city. Worth having a look in your local library, as they often run a book group in the library itself.

Red specs, where are your book groups?

hello! there is already a thriving Bristol mumsnet bookclub (which started on this thread then moved to this thread when mumsnet introduced different rules for using mumsnet names on local sites and several of the established members didn't want to use the local part of the site any more - but more lately has been functioning on facebook which is why there hasn't been much activity on thread lately (I'll go and add an update now) - send a personal message with your facebook name to anyone on that thread and we can arrange to add you to the facebook group. We are all very friendly and welcome new members. We meet in various pubs and cafes, taking turns to meet north or south of the river and trying to ensure everyone has a convenient journey sometimes.

Our next meeting has been planned for 13th January and we are reading Anne Tyler "Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant" - I'm not sure whether a venue has been confirmed yet, it may be the Tobacco Factory as it is south-of-the-river's turn.

I was wrong it's the Robin Hood's Retreat on the Gloucester Road. 8pm tonight. Do come along if you can, even if you haven't read the book, we would love to meet you and you can help us choose the next book.
