I taught at St Peter's - it's a great school, really pushes the kids in every aspect but also looks after them. Can be very intense but you get your money's worth. I never liked St Olave's (seemed very strict and too intense for the age groups) but loved Clifton Pre-Prep.

Kids coming in from the Minster to St Peter's were always lovely, a bit scared of the "big" school cause the Minster is so small. They also all had crazy musical qualifications - like grade 8 piano at age 13!!

Mine are at Clifton and St Olaves. Clifton is terrific - can't sing its praises enough. A really warm environment that encourages children to love learning, rather than pushing targets at them.

I am in two minds about Olaves. It has done wonders for my child's confidence and from a sport point of view, is terrific. But I am not yet sure about how he is doing academically and the thing I hate most is the culture of kids growing up too fast. i.e. 9 year olds moving into a high school type environment where all of a sudden 'everyone' has mobile phones, play very grown up games, have the latest gadgets. My child feels huge pressure to keep up with the Jones'. That could just be my child's own issues though.
