Relocating to Old Basing - two more questions

We arrive one week before our house is available. Thus we are looking for lodging accommodations for our first week in town. My preference is something with a little kitchen so that I can make some simple food for us (kids never seem to want to eat while you are sitting in a restaurant). Any suggestions on places to stay? I am familiar with US based hotel chains but thought it would be worth asking what you ladies who live there might suggest as a good family & affordable option.

Second question - we will need to figure out transportation from Heathrow when we arrive. It will be 4 of us (myself, husband, 2 toddlers) with 8 large suitcases, 4 small suitcases, diaper bag/laptop bags, our two baby carseats and a double pushchair. What is a suggested option for transport to Basingstoke from Heathrow with all of our things?

Thanks so much!!

I can't think of any chains that have kitchenettes. Although as I live here I've obviously never needed a hotel overnight. There is Premier Inn at the Leisure park, I'm sure they don't have kitchens in the rooms but on the site is a spruce goose resturant, maccy d's, pizza restaurant, and KFC. At least you'd have some variation in evening meals if you stayed there. It's a straight drive to town and not far from the hospital if you need it.

Plus on site there's a bowling alley, swimming pool, ice rink, indoor sky diving and our very own local museum, Milestones. All indoors which would at least keep you warm in January.

I'll have a think about nicer places with kitchens.
