Hills Road 6th Form - Best state 6th form in the Country

That's according to the Sunday Times listings last weekend.

Other schools mentioned in the top 100 were Stephen Perse & The Perse - obviously in the Independent Schools lists.

No primary schools reached the top 100.

How much attention do people pay to these lists? Should they matter at all?

One key point to remember is that Hills Road takes in a number of pupils who had spent their time from 11-16 at one of the Cambridge Independent Schools. Indeed I'm told by someone who works there that the intake comng from The Perse and Stephen Perse/Perse Girls inparticular, plus the Leys and St.Marys make up over half those who go onto Oxbridge from Hills Road. Having said that Hills Road is very good. It's size means it is best suited to independent learners as it is often hard to get much individual face time with staff given the number of pupils. It is a good half way house between school and university.
