I've just signed up as local editor for Staffordshire. I know the place has been a little empty for a while so I’ll be working to improve the listings on here to make it more useful and – most importantly – to arrange some RL meet ups for us.

There are some great success stories for other local sites and we’d love to replicate that here. Many mums have told HQ that these get-togethers have been a "life line".

You don’t have to keep the same nickname on Local as you have on the main site, so if you’re worried about ‘outing’ yourself then there’s no need.

Even if you can’t make a meet up in the flesh then get chatting on the talk boards, make yourself comfy and have a some and

Yes, it is very quiet. I admit I was put off coming on here for a long time because it was so quiet, but there's only one way to stop that!

Sorry, I have not had time to log on for a few days.
I am in Lichfield. I would love to get a coffee morning group to get to know some mums. My kids are teenagers but we are not from around here and therefor have little contacts.
Also I am looking for work. I do not want to be freelance so want to work for someone else. My skills are IT, Client facing environments, Fluent French and Spanish, like to work with people, have loads of experience having worked for big and small companies.

Sorry, nowhere near Lichfield but if you are after it work and are fluent in French and Spanish have a look at JCB, Michelin and Bet 365

Shame you are not near Lichfield. There does not seem to be much going on in Lichfield and being from Lonodn, I really feel a bit deprived. I would of course like to be proven wrong! I would organise coffee mornings but need to find mums out there first!

Suppose its harder to meet people when your DC are growing up. We moved when dc1 was 2 and I went along to my local nct group and made friends there.

@K7njo have you seen the other post where a Mum in Stoke is after friends?

Not MN but I when mine were little I used to like the p,aygroup at St Peters in the Westlands. Think it's still running
