Infant Observation

Hi everyone!
I wonder if someone could help me please...!
I am a Music Therapy Masters student, studying at the University of South Wales, (Newport). However, I work in Exeter and live in Taunton!
I have just started my MA this September and for our first year, we take an 'Infant Observation' module. This involves weekly seminars with our tutor, as well as weekly observations of a newborn baby with their parent, in their home environment.
Being new to the area (we only moved here in the summer from Lancashire) I do not know anyone and therefore finding a baby to observe is proving tricky!
This is a lovely, unique experience for a Mum (or Dad!) and baby to be observed for one hour a week; having someone who doesn't know you and your baby take a unique interest in their communication and development.
It is a privilege for us as students to be given this opportunity to closely observe the interactions between a baby and their caregiver.
If you would be willing to help me out, I would be sooo grateful to hear from you! It would involve me visiting you and your baby one hour a week (just in term time, not school holidays) and sitting quietly in the corner observing. We do not take notes until after the session so I will literally just be sitting quietly watching! I would love it if the sessions could start soon, and they generally carry on until May, but can stop at any time, there is no pressure on you at all.
I work with blind deaf children in Exeter so am fully DBS checked for my job (as well as university). I also have a letter from my University where you can obtain any further information and contact my course leader with further questions.
Thank you soooo much for your help, this would really help me so much with my studies and future work as a Music Therapist.
Thank you!
Elizabeth x
