Anyone have any experience of these schools - and the difference between them. Daughter likes the arts, doesn't want to be in too big a setting etc

My experience is too long ago to be of any use.

Wasn't Douglas also a "Musical Speciality" school? Even if it isn't still one, the muscial/arty ethos would have had an impact.

I went Bearsden Academy over 30 years ago and it was very academic there (to the extent of letting down/giving up on some of the less able/motivated kids) - I was fine and got 6 As at Higher (as did most of my class mates) but I would argue that that wasn't a good school.

It's been through a few head teachers since then, so I've no idea what it is like now. It has even moved to a fancy new campus! Smile
