Berkhamsted!

Hello,
We are considering moving from London to Berkhamsted.... it is a good commute to the City and I think (???) has nice countryside nearby and good schools (DSs age 2 and 6m)..... does anyone live in Berkhamsted and have any opinions as to what it is like as a place to live with small children.... it is a scary prospect moving somewhere you don't know that well and which are potentially going to stay for some time...
any advice very gratefully received!

ML1980 I am in exactly the same position as you when you posted this question - I'm hoping my commenting it will bump it to the top of the pile and receive some answers! We're preparing to move out of London to Berko in the next few months and have an 18 month old. I'm hesitant about the move and am looking for some info on what the area is like for mums and small children.
Did you make the move? How are you finding it?
While I'm on it, any areas we should avoid like the plague, house wise? We'd need to commute so walking/cycle distance to the station preferable...
