Relocating to South Cambridgeshire

We are due to move to South Cambridge for end of December for my husbands job. We are planning on renting at first - can anyone recommend villages or towns with good primary schools? Places I've been looking at on rightmove are
Whittlesford
Sawston
Great shelford
Trumpington

Sawston seem quite a bit cheaper?

Hi we live in Melbourn - has a good primary school here (no children there yet - first child on the way!) but I know its Ofsted outstanding.

We're in Melbourn too. The primary school got a satisfactory Ofsted last year (April 2012). I think it may well be on its way up now and wouldn't place too much importance on an Ofsted rating as they can be a few years out of date. The school looks ok, but my DD hasn't started their either. It is quite a nice village - it has a few shops and is walking distance to Meldreth station.

The traffic around Cambridge can be pretty horrendous, so I'd think about your husband's commute carefully. The queues from the M11 in through Trumpington are crazy at the moment. Luckily we don't have to go that way.

Well we are here! Renting in whittlesford until we decide where to buy. Anyone up for meet ups? We don't know anyone!
