Looking for babysitters

DH and I would like to start going out a bit more regularly, so need something more flexible than depending on favours from friends. Has anyone used any babysitting services in Edinburgh that they could recommend? Or, even better, have a personal recommendation for a particular babysitter? Does anyone have any idea of going rates? It would be for evenings after the children are in bed, so they wouldn't have to do anything. Thanks!

Where in Edinburgh are you? We use a couple of the staff from DS's nursery, so they are CRB checked/experienced etc. I think we pay £10 an hour, with any travelling expenses on top. We have always given them a lift home or a taxi at our expense.
