We went to Scotsdales last year and it was lovely apart from the queue.

Bumping this as really want to find out myself!

Have linked to the facebook page and tweeted.

LocalEditorCambridge · 09/11/2013 20:30

Have you been to the Santa's Grotto at Burwash Manor? On every weekend in December. Not been but think I'll go this year.

aliperi · 09/11/2013 21:32

Both Burwash Manor and Scotsdales are my favourites. But it can be very crowded and really long queues.

DiskFix · 09/11/2013 23:07

We used to enjoy the Nene Valley Railway event, with Santa's Grotto, a nice present per child and a ride on the steam train.

dinosaursdontwhine · 10/11/2013 20:58

Wicken Fen (National Trust). It was a brilliant experience last year, well worth the drive.

LocalEditorCambridge · 13/11/2013 19:51

Apparently Burwash Manor can't do their Santa this year.

CambridgeNewbie · 19/11/2013 14:05

Scotsdales are doing a booking service this year - so maybe that might help reduce the queue...?

LocalEditorCambridge · 19/11/2013 16:04

Yep - you pick your slot I think.

Have added the listing here - starts this weekend.

Father Christmas

The train at Audley End to Santa's grotto is always quite lovely, if a little cold...!

aliperi · 02/12/2013 19:20

just came back from scotsdales and really disappointed. Have been the previous two years and loved it.
They have changed the whole set up, it is very stressful. Some of the ladies working there were very nice, but two were horrible and one screamed at one of our kids. To be avoided

CambridgeNewbie · 02/12/2013 21:00

Oh no! We've already got our tickets so hoping its teething problems...? I'll report back in a couple of weeks when we've been.

NewtoCambridge · 02/12/2013 22:33

A few people have mentioned Scotsdales to me. I'm going to try Twentypence Garden centre next weekend, will have to see what that's like

Rinnyx · 02/12/2013 22:48

Are the none in the city itself?
This is my first Christmas back in Cambridge (moved back from Norwich) and im car less right now.

NewtoCambridge · 02/12/2013 22:53

I think there was one at the grafton centre last yr, at the moment it's a huge snow globe thing, but that might change.

Rinnyx · 02/12/2013 23:00

I saw that and wondered what it was lol
It's a shame somewhere like John Lewis don't do a Santa what with their big plug of the bear and hare cartoon

cammel · 03/12/2013 20:43

I think we might go or Audley End miniature railway.
