Hi are there any of you local mums out there that are anti all the newborn jabs like me?? ?? I feel constantly challenged on my decision not to have my children immunised and thought IDE put it out there.

I'm not sure why you have said this? Is it because you want to other people's views? I am not surprised you have been constantly challenged...I recently watched a short film about an infant who died from measles. She hadn't had the mmr vaccine. I couldn't stop crying after watching it and couldn't wait until my lo was old enough to have the vaccine. It was horrendous. I think people forget how awful some childhood illnesses can be. Obviously your decision but not only are you leaving your children vulnerable, you are actually putting other children at risk too. If you don't vaccinate your children they are more likely to contract something, not only putting them at risk but unfortunately every other child they come into contact with. I often find people who don't vaccinate their children have had a bad experience with vaccines and are worried about the effects on the children....of course this is a concern, but not when weighed up against the risk of not vaccinating. Obviously this is just my opinion.

There is a vaccinations board on the main site if you want to discuss this in more detail-I'm very much in favour of vaccinating babies against diseases that could kill them, so can't offer you any support.
