Hi we have just moved onto Wimbledon Parkside. My daughters have started school at a Putney primary. Eldest daughter is in year 4 and we wanted to start prepping her for 11+ tests. Can anyone help with recommendations for a tutor?

I can drive to Putney, Southside or within Wimbledon, tutors are also welcome to teach from my home if they want.

Appreciate any advice as daughter is my eldest and I am completely clueless especially with moving house. Some mums have said I should've started in September!

Hi there I am not too far from you and can provide in home tuition for Maths 11 plus.

I have a background in Accountancy and have been educated to an MBA level. My wife is also a current Primary school teacher so I am in touch with the current curriculum changes. I can provide tutoring for your children to prepare them for the 11plus.

Please get in touch by calling 07515 313880 or email me on [email protected]

It might also be worth talking to other Mums/Dads at your daughters' new school too? Parents can be quite secretive about these things, but if you get chatting to some of the Year 6 parents or those with children already at the grammar schools (who will have gone thro' the process and just emerged the other side!) you may find some largesse and shared knowledge!

I would also suggest using some easy-to-buy resources (such as teh Bond 11+ books) yourself to fill in until such time as you find someone who you feel confident to hire!

Also worth doing your background research as to what the particular grammar/private schools you are interested in for your girls, examine in their 11+ tests. I know of a parent with a very bright son, who mistakenly spent much time and effort prepping him on NVR/VR for the the combined Sutton/Wilson's/Wallington Boys/Greenshaw 1st Round, when he only really needed help with Maths and English. Needless to say he didn't get thro'
