Brighton move- nurseries around Preston Park

Hello mummies,
I can see there are loads of mums who took the plunge and moved from London down to Brighton. We (my hubby and our 1 yr old boy) will be doing the same in March 2014. We are planning to live in the Preston park area as I heard only good things about it and as I ll still commute to work to London 3 days/week. Can anyone recommend a nursery around Preston park? In November I ll have viewings at Busy Bee, Pumpkin Patch, Growing up green and Hopscotch nursery. Would love to meet some other mums once we have moved but would be grateful for any tipps or experiences in advance...
Thank you, Eve (btw Im a German native, husband is English (from Cheltenham)

Hi Eve

Welcome to the Brighton site! Glad you'll be joining us down on the coast soon.

My daughters both go to Pumpkin Patch in Preston Park and it's excellent - lovely staff, fantastic garden. I've also heard very good things about Growing Up Green. I'm sure the others are great too, they all seem to be well attended and set in some lovely buildings/ areas. Can any other MNers shed some light?

Preston Park is a lovely area to live in and I'm sure you'll really enjoy it.

Hi Eve,

Our daughter goes to Young Sussex in Hove, they have another nursery on Dyke Road close to Preston Park also.

She absolutely loves nursery! The excellent, caring staff, varied activities and plenty of outdoor play are no doubt the reasons for this. She has learnt so much in the time she has been there and has blossomed into an outgoing, happy toddler (just over 2) with lots of new little friends.

A friend's daughter is really happy at Young Sussex on Dyke Road also. It is a converted house so has a homely feel to it with plenty of outside space and the staff seem great also from what her mum has said.

Good luck with all your move preparations and nursery viewings!

BTW - there is a German group every Saturday morning in Brighton if you wanted to meet fellow Germans and their children. Send me a message if you want to find out more about it....

thank you, guys for all our tipps here. I viewed a few nurseries last week and was especially impressed with Growing up Green. Their garden and rooms were lovely. I also liked Pumpkin patch. Thanks HoveMrs for your tipps, will check out Young Sussex. Seems like your LO has a great time there. I ll PM you regarding the German group.
