Hi, I am loving the leafy area of Old/Couldson, but wondered why residents have not extended into their 150-200ft gardens. Are there conservation issues at all? It just seems that there these reasonably sized houses with very small kitchens. Anyone know?

I have put this on the Twitter page: twitter.com/MumsnetCroydon to see if we get a response. Perhaps the lack of response so far would indicate that there are no conservation issues - but your observation does seem strange. Have you contacted the planning department at the council?

Wendey - did you ever find out the answer to this question. It's very intriguing!
