Stormy Weather

Are you all prepared? I've done my best to secure all the crap in the garden but part of me is wondering if the media is over egging it a bit. I'll no doubt be eating my words in the morning. Blush

It's now raining steadily but not overly windy in Christchurch.

Yes, have done what I could in the garden . Now pouring down but no wind at all. Was very windy at Southbourne earlier. I think the weather people will have it spot on for a change. Ooh wind coming back again as I type

StrollAlongTheProm · 27/10/2013 20:25

On the BBC website earlier it was saying winds of 43mph. I know they get it wrong a lot but that's really wrong from other reports.

It was windy earlier today then it seemed to stop. I have a feeling it might keep me awake tonight though. My neighbours haven't done anything to their garden toys or furniture so I think they'll be a lot of noise!

That's ok as long as their stuff dosent fly and break your windows, my neighbour still as his garden Brolley up so I hope that won't take off and smash into my conservatory ! I hope to be awake to look outside, but I won't be going out in case of flying roof tiles. I am following ohyoubadkittens weather thread

StrollAlongTheProm · 27/10/2013 20:42

I'm following her threads too but I don't understand a lot of the links. Grin

My friend can't get her brolley out of it's stand. She is very worried!

Well we have left te bottom part in as it goes through a hole in the middle of our table. Hope it will be ok cause is glass . Although I don't wish anyone to get hurt etc i am strangely fascinated to see it in action and will try and stay awake to hear it. If I lived in America I would join the storm chasers !

mummylin2495 · 27/10/2013 21:50

Apparently due here at midnight and the worst at 3am

StrollAlongTheProm · 28/10/2013 06:58

What did you think Mummylin?

I slept through the whole thing.Blush Some storm chaser I'd make!

Slight damage to the top of our garden fence but that's it. It is very difficult to judge how bad it was when i was sleeping though. Grin

Nowhere near as bad as it thought it would be. I went to bed about half hour before the worst was due but was still awake at the. Peak. Just had a quick look in the garden and all looks to be .fine for us. I have heard there is more stormy weather next weekend too !

StrollAlongTheProm · 28/10/2013 07:18

I won't be getting very over excited about next weekend.

I'm glad everyone is safe but it was a was a bit of a let down.

mummylin2495 · 02/11/2013 18:08

Here I am again, very windy isn't t, hope we don't get the thunder that some areas have had !

StrollAlongTheProm · 03/11/2013 07:42

Doesn't seem as bad this morning, but was a bit hairy with the fireworks last night!

I saw on one of the other threads that someone had hail. Shock

OP posts:
mummylin2495 · 03/11/2013 08:49

And other places had thunder and lightening !! I was surprised to see the sun this morning , but clouding a bit now isn't it. Not sure when the wind is supposed to arrive, lots of people saying its worse than last week ! We will wait and see

StrollAlongTheProm · 03/11/2013 19:10

I hope this rain has gone before the school run tomorrow. That will not be a fun Monday morning.

We have just driven home from dd,s and it's teeming down, puddles already forming on some of the roads

Pantah630 · 06/11/2013 20:02

DH and I went for a walk up Hengistbury Head at ten Saturday night, it was lovely up there, a bit blowy but nothing too bad. Lovely clear, starlit sky, would definitely recommend it for an evening hike without the kids.
