Harpenden - is it really that snobby?

First time poster - so please be nice!

From what we've seen of it Harpenden looks great - good transport, lovely town and good schools.

Only thing is my other half has been looking on the forums and got a slight impression that it might be a little snobby... but I reckon in a town of 30,000 there must be more than a few normal mums out there?!

So whats the truth? Would love to know!

Lots from Harpenden at DDs secondary school. Range from ultra snobs who do not speak, and are very cliquey because they think they are so much better than you, to pleasant people who are just like everyone else. Posh road, ending in Common, will have the snobs! Is that where you are buying? Yes, there are normal Mums everywhere!

There are normal mums - lots of them but it does have more than its fair share of snobby ones too.

Thanks both

Fairly flexible on area as most places seem nice and open, especially as we're coming out from London.

Will prob end up 0.5-1 mile from station, as need to commute but can't afford to be any closer! Guess that also steers us clear of the poshest areas too.
