Shropshire is going to be site of the week soon. I'm looking for suggestions for the following:

Best THING ABOUT THE AREA

Best CHILD-FRIENDLY CAFÉ

Best CHILD-FREE NIGHT OUT

Best OUTSIDE SPACE

Best HIDDEN GEM

Best COMMUNITY VENUES

Best FREE VISITOR ATTRACTIONS

Best DAY OUT

Best PLACES TO LIVE

Best PLACES TO SHOP

Any help much appreciated. Smile

My two penneth worth...

Best THING ABOUT THE AREA: Country living with bright 'city' lights not too far away!o

Best CHILD-FRIENDLY CAFÉ: Hmmm, pass!

Best CHILD-FREE NIGHT OUT: need a baby sitter for one of those. Flares in Shrews used to be good for a laugh (is Flares still about?)

Best OUTSIDE SPACE: Telford Town Park,Carding mill

Best HIDDEN GEM:Hawkestone Park

Best COMMUNITY VENUES

Best FREE VISITOR ATTRACTIONS:Fordhall Farm,Telford Town Park,Ironbridge.

Best DAY OUT: We spent hours in the summer at TTP, also like Attingham.

Best PLACES TO LIVE:North Shropshire has some lovely villages

Best PLACES TO SHOP: Shrewsbury for 'nice' things. Telford for mundane shopping!

Hi there

Mine are teens now [where did the years go!].

For what it's worth a good night out with no dc's would involve Franks, The Silverton and a curry at Cafe Saffron.

The Bistro at the top of Mardol is also a nice meal out

Hawkestone Park is fab and their Christmas activities at the Folly are brilliant!

Church Stretton for outdoor spaces is good and the hell that is Mickey Millers at Craven Arms was beloved by my ds's when they were younger.

A good cafe with kids, that's tricky and I can't help. However The Armoury is spacious and I've seen toddlers in there with pushchairs and highchairs available, I love their menu.

Thanks Things and YouStay some great suggestions. I've just been to Attingham and with the sun shining it was lovely.
