I moved to ilchester middle of this year due to my husband being in the Royal Navy. I have a few people I speak to but would like to get to know any fellow mummy's or mums to be. Hi Charlene I just saw your post and wondered how you were getting on in ilchester, we are supposed to be moving from london to crewkerne in August/September and I'm a little bit nervous as don't know anyone in the area. I have a 9 month old and a 3 year old. K x

Charlene - how are you? I live in Yeovil and know Ilchester a little bit. There are many families in the area like yours with a military connection so I am sure you will find others in a similar situation. Yeovil is OK for young families - Rug Ratz in Abbey Manor is a popular indoor soft play place. Jungle Jungle is similar but for slightly older children. There is a good playground in Ninesprings (Yeovil Country Park) - park at Goldenstones swimming pool and walk left into the park.
Are you booked into Yeovil Hospital for the birth? The NCT runs antenatal classes locally plus can give you info about meeting up with other parents. www.nct.org.uk/branches/yeovil-sherborne
