Wimborne Minster/Colehill

Hi there, My husband is relocating to Christchurch with work early next year. We are looking at living in the Wimborne Minster area as we have two kids 5 & 3 and heard that the schools are great here. Would love to hear from anyone who lives in the Wimborne Minster/Colehill area who can give me their opinions on what it's like to live there. Also any information about the local schools would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

I live in Christchurch, but I have friends in Wimborne and it's a lovely place. I think it's great location wise; you can get to the beach, countryside or New Forest quite easily - as long as you drive. Public transport isn't the best.

I'm sure someone will be along who can tell you about the schools, but I would recommend looking at the Dorset Council website. Once you have an idea of schools it will be able to tell you the distance of the last child offered a place within catchment. Schools are very oversubscribed in Bournemouth and Christchurch (I'm not sure if this is the case in Wimborne), so you may need to buy closer within catchment to secure a place.
