Do you take your children Trick or Treating? Where do you take them in Portsmouth? What kind of reception do you get? Do you get treats in for children who might call? What are the best treats to receive and what are the worst?

We don't get anyone on our street. But the shops seem to make it a bigger deal every year - more decorations than ever before, more costumes. When I was a child, we used to make the costumes - you couldn't buy them in the shops - the most you could get was a pre moulded face mask or may be some rubber spiders and a witches hat. But we used to get loads of trick or treaters. I think people are more wary now of knocking on doors of people they don't know.

When I lived in Fratton there seemed to be a few years when it was very abundant. When I moved to Drayton it seemed to be down to a few organised parents who would visit before hand to check if it was ok to knock with their chosen group of children.

We do it in Farlington - the unwritten rule seems to be that it's ok to knock if the house is decorated/has a pumpkin. We get about 20 lots of kids knock our door, it's great fun ?
