If you and your dh have an evening out you you hire a local sitter, if you do how did you find them, or do you have a recommendation.

It seems wrong to keep asking my parents as its over an hour away.

Not that we go out very much but if we feel we've imposed on Grandma a bit too much lately, my NCT group (still going strong after 5 years!) step into the breach. We don't pay each other - just leave wine/chocs out and pay the favour back next time. Maybe we could start something similar on here (obv only with people we've actually met and "checked out"). I know there's quite a few of us in St John's on here so that would be useful for me!

I have a number for someone now she is a childcare student.

She charges 2.50 an hour, which seems cheap to me??? Not sure what I should do.

Why not book her for 1-2 hours to start off with as a trial? Maybe in the day and see how she gets on. Does she have any references?
