Secondary school choices in Hove

PerditaMcLeod · 15/10/2013 15:52

DD is currently in Y6 and we are completing her high school application. We have seen both Hove Park and Blatchington Mill, which are our catchment schools. I liked them both and struggling to choose tbh.

I just wondered if any of you lovely fellow Hove-ites had any experience of either school and any views on strengths/weaknesses of each.

Thanks in advance!

My eldest goes to blatch and my next will probably go to hove park.
I wouldn't have said that a few years ago but hove park has come on amazingly in the last few years.
Is great for IT and languages.
Blatch is ex grammar and has always been a good school.
Last year they got a 100% gcse coverage. Meaning that everyone got at least 1 gcse. Which is apparently pretty good.
They have great drama links and dance is on the curriculum which my eldest really loves.
Tbh they are both fab schools and I wouldn't be unhappy to get either.
Pacca is another thing all together.
