Selsdon v Sanderstead

Hello,
We are looking to move to Sanderstead next year primarily because of schools and because we already have friends living there. Looking at property it seems that Selsdon is a bit cheaper ...now am wondering about why?
Would be great to get some honest answers. How do the areas compare? Will also be taking a look over the next weeks but was hoping to get some local knowledge from the ladies on this board.

Essentially Sanderstead is posher. So has more people with higher incomes etc. Fewer flats, more detached houses. It has a station too.

Mummy0405 - did you make a decision on where to live - and did you agree with MuminPurley's verdict?

Of course there is debate as to whether the bit by the station is Sanderstead - many would say it was just the area at the top of the hill.
