Hi from your new Local Editor!

Just a little note to say hi to everyone out there - I'm your new Local Editor for the Mumsnet Colchester & Harwich site Smile. I'll be working hard over the coming weeks and months to make sure that your local site is jam-packed with up-to-date listings, interesting news and lots of chat (I'm delighted to see that many of you are already nattering away). Bear with me - there's a lot to do but I'm on it and with your help we can make it the go-to place for information, inspiration, advice and company for your area. There are lots of exciting plans in the pipeline and I'm looking forward to getting know as many of you as possible. Any suggestions or ideas please let me know. Hello, I'm revisiting and so pleased to see the boards filling up again, it's really disheartening to get no replies. Will keep coming back now!

From my POV with a 7m old and not knowing anyone in the local area I found the Children's Centres really good for free stuff to do.

Hi NestMaker, good to hear from you! We're working hard to reinvigorate the Colchester site and get people talking again. I hope you'll find lots of new stuff on the site of interest - the events and business listings are starting to roll in so keep an eye out. Any ideas are gladly received - it's YOUR site after all. Announcement I have just taken over from the lovely lady above. I was born in Colchester and now live in Halstead, so know quite a bit about the area.
I am also the editor for the Essex site so just saying hello !
