Buying in Greenwich

Hi

I wonder if anyone on the forum has any idea about the new development on Restell Close, right next to Maze Hill? It's off Vanburgh Hill so I'm hoping it is a good, safe area. We have an 11 month old, so I'm very interested in nurseries and primary schools around the place too. It seems like a hefty walk with a pushchair though as it is quite a steep incline area.

What are your opinions?

do you mean the Seren Park development? Seems quite high density but is very good for the station (some noise from the trains). Greenwich Square has started sales.

Yes. The high density does bother me. It just seems so cramped. I'm wondering how they manage to move in furniture through those narrow corridors. And there's barely any storage in the flat we saw :(

There's no way we can afford Greenwich Square. Unless we win the lotto tonight :)

We are also looking at re-sales in Greenwich Millenium Village. We are renting there already. Any experiences in buying are welcome.

I think the prices are fairly steep - you could probably get a two bed flat or maisonette in east Greenwich/Charlton with a garden for the same price. Have you looked into the new 'Help to Buy' scheme? There are a few nurseries in that area - Teddies (pricey), Springwell on the main Rd near Teddies and Robert Owen Early Years Centre (good). There are many child minders too and the one o clock club at East Greenwich Pleasaunce is good.
State primaries in East Greenwich are Millenium (modern, nice school and is 'on the up'), Halstow (good reputation but limited playground space and coasting a bit I think - catchment teeny) and Meridian (also up and coming and nicely mixed socially).

Hi greenwichghost, we've been looking at Halstow so would be interested to know why you think it is coasting?

Thanks.
