After discovering how many of us there are around here, I thought it would be good to get our very own chat thread. If there's enough interest, I may even set up a Lancaster local site.

Quick Bio - ex LGGS (the Pammie G Era) moved away, moved back, work at UoC.

I like cocktails and would like to meet people who also like cocktails and maybe would even like to meet up one evening and drink them! Grin

Hello! Fashionably late as usual! How is everyone?

GinFirstQuestionsLater · 08/10/2013 06:57

Good morning!

There's nothing like an early morning!

Morning. DS let me have a lie in until 7am this morning, it's the latest he's slept in months. Smile

ErrolTheDragon · 08/10/2013 10:11

Hello you up there! I have to wake before 6:30 to get my arse in gear to get DD to her bus, we have to be out the door 7:30 sharp. Works quite well, I can get some exercise in before work.

SilentCrescendo · 08/10/2013 11:46

So roughly how many of us are in Lancaster then, d'you think? Everytime one of those 'where are you?' threads comes up, I never see anybody say here but between here and the thread were the lady was considering moving here, it turned out quite a few of us popped out from the woodwork!

GinFirstQuestionsLater · 08/10/2013 13:38

I don't post where I am under my usual nn as t'internet is a strange place! That's why I have this one.

Maybe we're all just sneaky Grin

Yes this username isnt my actual MN name. I am north of lancaster by about 6/7 miles :)

Szeli · 10/10/2013 13:11

Lancaster's too intertwined to be too open. I tried to go to Aloha but it was full :( reverted back to type and the bobbin

My son slept in until 10am! Didnt nap tho the day before

latteandgingersnap · 10/10/2013 18:10

Hi everyone. I'm from and still live in Lancaster. Ex LGGS as well - I left in 1990. Anyone remember the Taylor-Wright Debating Society? I had one of those moments today and remembered it sounded so posh! And Miss Leach made you sweep up leaves or clean the hockey hut if you didn't do games.

Lady Wadders, I think we'll be moving near you next year as planning to move to that place about 6/7 miles north! I'm fed up of Lancaster traffic lights.

LadyWadders · 10/10/2013 20:00

Well Latte, we are selling a particularly beautiful 3 bed house in said location at the moment Wink

GinFirstQuestionsLater · 10/10/2013 20:08

latte, you were in the same year as my big sis.

A small world no less!

latteandgingersnap · 13/10/2013 23:53

LadyWadders I may have looked at your house on Rightmove!

Ginfirst - another coincidence! Lancaster feels small when you find how you connect with people - also I think quite a lot of people do come back after working away....realise we actually live in a lovely area!

Hi am starting work in Lancaster at Easter and looking for recommendations on areas to stay. DH works near Keswick so looking at Lancaster, Kendal or anywhere in between. We have 2 year old twins who will start reception in 2015 so good primary schools are important. To make life easier for me I'd like to be in or v close to Lancaster but I have no idea of the different areas. Any suggestions?

Szeli · 24/01/2014 01:01

There was a whole thread on this not so long ago; I know morecambe better but the general consensus seemed to be quernmore or bowerham. Where in Lancaster do you need to be?

DisplacedDiva · 13/02/2014 17:10

Gi everyone. I'm actually the MN Local Ambassador for Lancaster/Morecambe area. I've a thread going on Meetups trying to organise a local meetup. We had a few last year, but then I had my own LO and it's been a little chaotic. Trying to find out who would like to meet up, when, and where. Input would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks

Hi everyone :-)
I've just logged on to see if there are any Lancaster mummies about and pleasantly surprised to find this thread - although not sure if you are still reading it any more?
I'm Lancaster born and apart from 10 months down south I have lived here all my life! I became a single mum last yr and have a beautiful 3 yr old girl, so it would be lovely to hopefully get to know more local mummies and their little ones - oh and people to enjoy the odd girly night out too ;-) x

DisplacedDiva · 15/04/2014 23:54

Yes, we are still here!!! There is a Lancaster Meet-Up group, and now the weather is getting better (and my LO is getting bigger) want to organise some meet-ups!

Szeli · 17/04/2014 10:16

Diva - it won't allow me to post on the meet ups thing but I'll bob down with you if I'm not working xx

AddlestoneReVampPlease · 28/06/2014 15:03

Hi People wondered if any of you were still around as am moving to the area?

spbn · 04/01/2018 22:42

Am looking to relocate to Lancaster.
Am a non driver as partially sighted and therefore need access to shops, gym and usual facilities.
Possibly a new build for low maintenance.
Any help appreciated.

RandomMess · 05/01/2018 09:23

What's your budget, what size house, are schools a consideration?
