Is it just me or do your kids hate Halloween too?

I spend all year telling them there's no such things as monsters and there's nothing under the bed and then BAM! Halloween. Blood, guts, gore, teeth. You can't even buy a cupcake without there being a plastic spider on it.

Last year I took both my sons to a Halloween party and they hated it. This year I was thinking of staying in and watching Addams Family Values.

Do your kids like Halloween or do they get too scared?

Mine THINK they like it, but actually we just end up eating those cupcakes you mentioned from Greggs.

Yeah I love how the kids just leave those plastic spiders lying around on the floor. Can't get enough of that kind of heart stopping fun. Not.

Our kids love Halloween but there again I'm pagan in my beliefs so we tend to celebrate a lot of the feast days so they see it in context.

Strangely though, we're really bad at organising Halloween. Last year we managed some trick-or-treating round our close but this year we were on holiday.

One year I'll get it together to do a proper pagan Halloween party with all the games and dressing up, and arranged so that the little'uns don't get too scared!
