We thought we'd try somewhere other than Baroosh this time.

Or we also talked about the Eagle/Baron of Beef/Pickerel for Cambridge history tour.

Hopefully, was thinking about going away that weekend, but not sure we will. I like the Brewhouse. The King St run has definitely gone upmarket in the last few year

Has the Brewhouse replaced the Bun Shop?

Oh yes I'm up for this! And I second the Brewhouse but I'm happy with anywhere.

Yep, Brewhouse used to be the bunshop. You can book tables if some of us want to eat. It gets really busy so can be handy to book

I'd like to join this time if I can - never been to the Brewhouse but apparently it's really good

So far we've had evening meets at 8 ish with booze and loud chatting.

GinandIt - we were suggesting other places last time that CambridgeNewbie might like to discover, on the grounds of their Cambridge-yness; hence the Pickerel and the Eagle. But Cambridge Brewhouse it is for this time round. I don't mind making the reservation a bit closer to the time.

ah yes I have very fond memories of the eagle's very large glasses of wine

yes real names are used peggety there is lots of chatting and laughing (and wine in my case!) I'm looking forward to hearing sbout A14's night out in soho!

So last night you all met up, did it turn out that anyone knew anyone in RL or not?!

No Peggety, no-one knew each other - there were a couple of people who were quite new to Cambridge ( you can spot 'em by their nicknames) and some old lags like me and throughgrittedteeth - who is not old at all but we've both been in Cambridge forever.

Our new, exciting, local editor has asked whether we want to pick a venue and have it promoted on the local board and maybe review it after our night and in return she will try and wangle something free for us.

What does everyone think?

I'd be up for that :) no booze for me as I'll be bringing a wk34 bump along for the journey, but still looking forward to it.
