Many Local Mumsnetters are worried that if they post in Local Talk they may be "outed". I can assure you that I have no way of knowing who you are. You could be standing next to me at the school gates, or you could be my sister in law. Local Editors are not privy to any sign in details or email addresses.

Posting on Local Talk is a great way of finding out information local to you. What's your local primary like? Are there toilets at the children's play area down the road? Which soft play centre is the best value? Get stuck in, and be our anonymous guest.

If you're already familiar with Big Mumsnet (mumsnet.com) then you could even start your own local AIBU thread (Am I Being Unreasonable?).

I've just popped in from the main boards and changed my name! It does help that I can get involved in a massive bunfight on AIBU and then come over here with a new name as if butter wouldn't melt! Grin

Hi Dragons, I do find there's less swearing on Local but I don't know why. It's a lot less rowdy than AIBU on the mainsite anyway. Maybe that will change? Wink

How do you change your username? I managed to change my nickname on main Mumsnet but not here?

Thanks

Graham

Usually you are able to have one nickname for Local and another for the mainsite. I had to ask MNHQ to change my nickname which they did. maybe you could email [email protected]? they are very helpful. Tell them you are a Local Ambassador, although I think you may already have emailed Isabella, so you could ask her.

My name is rather similar, but then my bigMN profile is open anyway, I'm not a secret Grin

SamInSouthWales · 08/11/2013 11:11

I've got a totally different name on MN- I'm very secretive on there but totally open on Local.Grin

I am intrigued... Grin

I'm saying nothing. I'm just going to keep wearing this false beard so nobody recognises me. Smile
